LeCoultre & VanHees duo

Duo LeCoultre & Vanhees consists of Floor Le Coultre (Groningen, 1990) and Martin van Hees (Groningen, 1990). They met at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague where they both excelled in their studies. Floor (violin) passed her Master course with a 9.5 and distinction. She was a soloist with several orchestras and won prizes at the Princess Christina Competition and the Davina van Wely Violin Competition.

Floor Le Coultre violinist and guitarist Martin van Hees wonder how the landscape of classical music have been like without the influence of folk music. If we go back in time, we see that quite a lot of composed music was influenced by folk music. Folk music from among others, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe and Middle / South America provides a source of inspiration for composers where the guitar and the violin play an important role in. This fresh duo, founded in 2014, already played on the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam, on the Kamermuziek Festival at Schiermonnikoog and more chamber music locations.
